In short
Entry to the Ouzoud Waterfalls is free: there is no ticket for the falls. The cost of a private day is the trip from Marrakech, about 160 km each way, and what you add on site. With us, a private trip is priced per vehicle for your whole group. Private transport with a driver costs 180 EUR for 1 to 7 people and 250 EUR for 8 to 17. The private tour with a local guide costs 220 EUR or 330 EUR. The premium day, with guide, boat ride and lunch included, costs 220 EUR or 330 EUR plus 35 EUR per person. On the guided tour that is 110 EUR each for two people, 55 EUR each for four and about 31.43 EUR each for seven. Options: local guide 40 or 80 EUR per group on private transport, boat ride 5 EUR per person, lunch 30 EUR per person. Drinks and tips are your choice. A family of four on our tour with boat and lunch pays 360 EUR in total. You pay a 50% deposit online and the balance in cash to the driver; cancellation is free up to 48 hours before.
- Entry to the falls is free: no ticket to buy
- One price per private vehicle, from €180 for 1 to 7 people
- Our guided tour for 4 people: €220, so €55 each
- Options in the open: guide, boat €5 and lunch €30 per person
- 50% deposit online, balance in cash to the driver
- Free cancellation up to 48 hours before
A private day at the Ouzoud Waterfalls costs less than many people expect, because the falls themselves are free. There is no entry ticket. Your budget is made of three things: the private vehicle from Marrakech and back (about 160 km each way, roughly 3 hours by road), what you add at the falls (a local guide, the boat ride, lunch), and small personal costs such as drinks and tips. We price per vehicle, for your whole group: €180 for private transport with a driver for 1 to 7 people, or €220 for the private tour with a local guide. Split between four travellers, that guided tour costs €55 each.
This page adds up the whole day, line by line, so you know the real total before you book. If you only want our price list and what each offer includes, see our prices page.
What does a private day at Ouzoud cost at a glance?
Here is the full picture in one table. Our prices are the ones used by the booking form; local prices on site are set by the people who run them, so we describe them without quoting a figure.
| Item | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Entry to the falls | Free | No ticket for the falls or the paths |
| Private transport with driver | €180 (1 to 7 people) / €250 (8 to 17) | Per vehicle, return trip, driver waits at the falls, no guide |
| Private tour with local guide | €220 / €330 | Per vehicle, guide at Ouzoud included |
| Premium private day | €220 / €330 + €35 per person | Guide, boat ride and lunch included |
| Local guide (option on transport) | €40 / €80 per group | Walk to the falls and viewpoints |
| Boat ride at the foot of the falls | €5 per person (our option) | Included in the premium day |
| Lunch by the falls | €30 per person (our option) | Included in the premium day, drinks extra |
| Tips (driver, guide) | Your choice | Customary, never compulsory |
| Drinks, snacks, souvenirs | Budget a little cash | Never included in any of our offers |
Two lines matter most for your total: the offer you choose (transport only, guided tour or premium) and the size of your group.
Why do we price per vehicle and not per seat?
A private trip means the vehicle and the driver are for your group only. Nobody else gets in, the timetable is yours and pickup is at your hotel or the nearest gate to your riad. Because the cost of the day is the vehicle, the driver and the fuel, not the number of seats filled, we charge one price for the whole group.
Many per-person offers you will see on booking platforms are shared minibuses with set times and other travellers on board; we work differently, with one private vehicle per group, so the two are not priced the same way.
The consequence is simple: with a private vehicle, two people and seven people pay the same. The more you are, the less each person pays.
The vehicles
- Minivan, 7 seats, for 1 to 7 people.
- Minibus, 17 seats, for 8 to 17 people.
The size of your group decides the vehicle, and the vehicle decides the base price. That is why our prices have two columns.
How much does each person pay, by group size?
Here is the cost per person of our private tour with a local guide, calculated exactly as the booking form does it.
| Group | Total for the group | Per person |
|---|---|---|
| 1 person | 220 € | 220 € |
| 2 people | 220 € | 110 € |
| 4 people | 220 € | 55 € |
| 6 people | 220 € | 36.67 € |
| 7 people | 220 € | 31.43 € |
| 8 people | 330 € | 41.25 € |
| 12 people | 330 € | 27.50 € |
| 17 people | 330 € | 19.41 € |
Prices in EUR for the whole group, 50% deposit online, balance in cash to the driver on the day.
And here is the same calculation for each of our three offers, for the group sizes we see most often.
| Group | Transport (€180 / €250) | Guided tour (€220 / €330) | Premium (+ €35 pp) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person | €180 | €220 | €255 |
| 2 people | €90 each | €110 each | €145 each |
| 3 people | €60 each | €73.33 each | €108.33 each |
| 4 people | €45 each | €55 each | €90 each |
| 6 people | €30 each | €36.67 each | €71.67 each |
| 7 people | €25.71 each | €31.43 each | €66.43 each |
| 10 people (minibus) | €25 each | €33 each | €68 each |
| 17 people (minibus) | €14.71 each | €19.41 each | €54.41 each |
The calculation is simple: €220 / 2 = €110, €220 / 4 = €55, €220 / 7 = €31.43. For the premium day, add €35 per person to the vehicle price: for four people, €220 + 4 x €35 = €360, so €90 each.
What the numbers mean
- A solo traveller or a couple pays the full vehicle price between one or two people. It is the same private day, with the vehicle and the guide for you alone.
- From four people, the cost per head drops quickly: €55 each on the guided tour.
- Seven people is the sweet spot of the minivan: the guided tour comes to about €31.43 each.
- Eight people move into the minibus, so the price per head goes up a little compared with seven (€330 / 8 = €41.25 on the guided tour), then comes down again as the group grows. Ten people pay €33 each, seventeen about €19.41 each.
What can you add to the day, and what does it cost?
Every option is priced in the open and added to the same booking, so you know the total before you pay.
A local guide at the falls
On private transport, the driver drives and waits: he is a driver, not a tour guide. If you want someone to walk with you to the falls and the viewpoints, explain the site and the mills, and help you find the paths on both banks, you can add a local guide for €40 per group (1 to 7 people) or €80 (8 to 17). Transport plus guide comes to exactly the price of our private tour, where the guide is already included. Our page on the tour with a local guide explains what the guide does.
The boat ride
The small boats at the foot of the falls take you close to the spray, and many visitors, especially children, enjoy it. Our option costs €5 per person, paid with your trip. It is included in the premium day.
Lunch by the falls
Lunch on a terrace facing the falls, tajines and simple Moroccan dishes, is €30 per person as an option. Tell us about dietary needs when you book (vegetarian, for example) and we pass them on. Drinks are not included. Lunch is part of the premium day; our page on the tour with lunch and boat describes both.
The premium day: everything included
If you prefer not to think about options at all, the premium day includes the private vehicle with driver, a private local guide for your group only, the boat ride and lunch at a selected restaurant by the falls, with more time and flexibility in the day. It costs €220 (1 to 7 people) or €330 (8 to 17) plus €35 per person. For four people, that is €360, the same total as the guided tour with boat and lunch added one by one.
What should you check in any Ouzoud offer?
A low headline price is not always a low total, whoever sells it. The honest way to compare is to add up the full day. Before you book anything, with us or anyone else, check these points.
Is lunch included?
Some day trips stop at a restaurant chosen in advance, where lunch is paid separately. That is perfectly normal, but the real cost of the day is then the trip plus a meal. Ask whether lunch is included and, if not, whether you are free to eat where you like. With us, lunch is an option at €30 per person, or included in the premium day.
Is the boat ride included or paid on site?
On many offers, the boat is paid on site to the boatmen. That is fine, as long as you know it before you compare totals. With us, it is a €5 option per person, or included in the premium day.
Is the local guide part of the price?
Some offers include a walk with a local guide; others leave you at the top of the path, where guides then offer their services on the spot. Check whether a guide is included, for how long, and whether a tip is expected on top. With us, the guide is included in the private tour and the premium day, and is a clear option on private transport.
Where exactly is the pickup?
Ask whether pickup is at your hotel or riad, or at a central meeting point, and whether it costs more if you are outside the centre. With us, pickup in Marrakech is included in every price: at your hotel entrance, or at the nearest gate or car park the vehicle can reach for riads in the medina. Our page on riad pickup lists the usual points by quarter.
Are there shopping stops on the way?
Some day trips include a stop at a cooperative or a shop. These can be pleasant, but they take time from the day, and nobody should feel obliged to buy. On a private day, you decide: if you prefer to go straight to the falls, tell your driver.
A quick checklist
- What exactly is included: vehicle, driver, guide, boat, lunch?
- Is the vehicle for your group only?
- Where and when is pickup, and is the return to the same place?
- How long do you get at the falls?
- Is the price per person or per vehicle, and what is the total for your group?
- What is the cancellation rule, and is the deposit refundable?
Should you tip, and how much?
Tipping is customary in Moroccan tourism, but it is entirely your choice. Nobody should ever ask you for a tip as if it were part of the price, and our drivers and guides never will. If you are happy with the day, many visitors leave something for the driver and for the local guide at the end. We do not suggest an amount: it depends on you, on the size of your group and on how the day went. Keep some small notes in cash, which also helps for drinks and the stalls along the path.
What else should you budget for on site?
The falls are free, but the path down is lined with terrace cafés, stalls and small restaurants, and most visitors spend something there.
- Drinks and snacks. A mint tea or a fresh juice on a terrace facing the falls is part of the visit for many people. Drinks are never included in our offers, even with lunch.
- Lunch, if you did not add it. Restaurants by the falls serve tajines and simple Moroccan dishes. Prices depend on the place and on what you order, so we do not quote them. If you prefer to know the cost in advance, our lunch option is €30 per person.
- The boat ride, if you did not add it. Short and gentle, at the foot of the falls, paid on site to the boatmen.
- Souvenirs. Crafts and small items are sold along the path. Buy only if you like something.
A word about the macaques you may see near the terraces. The Barbary macaques of Ouzoud are an Endangered species, and research at the site links food from visitors to more aggression and to the group splitting. Keep food out of sight, keep a few metres away and do not feed them, however tempting it is. It costs nothing and helps them.

A typical day starts with pickup around 8:00 and ends back in Marrakech in the early evening; the exact time is confirmed after booking. - Deposit: 50% online, by PayPal or bank card through PayPal.
- Balance: in cash to your driver on the day.

- Weather: if a storm or a closed road makes the trip unsafe, you choose between a new date and a full refund of the deposit.
So on a total of €360, you pay €180 online when you book and €180 in cash to the driver on the day.
What does a real private day cost? Worked examples
Here are a few totals, calculated the same way as our booking form.
A solo traveller
One person on private transport pays €180, with the vehicle and driver to themselves and free time at the falls. On the guided tour, €220. On the premium day, with guide, boat and lunch included, €220 + €35 = €255.
A couple with boat and lunch
The couple takes our private tour with a local guide and adds the boat ride and lunch:
€220 + 2 x €5 + 2 x €30 = €220 + €10 + €60 = €290 in total, so €145 each.
The premium day comes to the same total (€220 + 2 x €35 = €290), with lunch at a selected restaurant and more time in the day. The deposit is €145 online, and €145 in cash to the driver.
Three friends on private transport
Three people who want to explore alone take private transport: €180, so €60 each. If they decide they want a guide after all, the guide option adds €40 for the group, for a total of €220, or about €73.33 each.
A family of four with boat and lunch
The family takes our private tour with a local guide and adds the boat ride and lunch for everyone:
€220 + 4 x €5 + 4 x €30 = €220 + €20 + €120 = €360 in total, so €90 per person.
That covers the private vehicle, the driver, the guide, pickup at the hotel, the boat ride and lunch. Only drinks and tips remain. The premium day comes to the same total for four people (€220 + 4 x €35 = €360). Children are welcome: tell us their ages when you book, and read our page on Ouzoud with kids for the walk.

A group of ten friends
Ten people travel in the minibus on our guided tour: €330 in total, so €33 each. If everyone adds lunch, that is €330 + 10 x €30 = €630, so €63 each. On the premium day, with boat and lunch included: €330 + 10 x €35 = €680, so €68 each. The deposit on €630 is €315 online.
A group of seventeen
The full minibus on private transport costs €250, so about €14.71 each. On the guided tour, €330, about €19.41 each. On the premium day, €330 + 17 x €35 = €925, about €54.41 each.
So what does a private day at Ouzoud really cost?
The falls are free, so the real cost is the private vehicle and what you add to it. From €180 for private transport for up to seven people, €220 with a local guide, and €220 plus €35 per person with guide, boat and lunch included. For a family of four with everything, that is €360, or €90 each. Add drinks and tips at your choice, and that is the whole day.
To see the guided day in detail, go to the private Ouzoud tour; for the vehicle alone, see private transport with a driver. You can check the total for your group and date directly in the booking form. Still deciding whether the trip is for you? Read are the Ouzoud Waterfalls worth it.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a day trip to the Ouzoud Waterfalls from Marrakech?
With us, a private day trip is priced per vehicle, pickup in Marrakech included. Private transport with a driver costs €180 for 1 to 7 people and €250 for 8 to 17. The private tour with a local guide costs €220 or €330, so €55 each for four people. Entry to the falls is free; the boat ride, lunch, drinks and tips come on top, as options or at your choice.
Is there an entry fee for the Ouzoud Waterfalls?
No. There is no entry fee and no ticket for the Ouzoud Waterfalls themselves. You can walk down the paved path to the foot of the falls and along the paths on both banks without paying. What costs money is what you choose on the way: the boat ride, a drink or lunch on a terrace, a local guide and tips.
Do I need to buy Ouzoud Waterfalls tickets in advance?
There are no tickets for the falls, because entry is free. What you book in advance is the trip itself: a private vehicle with driver from Marrakech, with or without a local guide. With us, you book online instantly, pay a 50% deposit and the balance in cash to the driver on the day, with free cancellation up to 48 hours before. See our booking page.

How much does Ouzoud cost per person?
It depends on how many you are, because we price the vehicle, not the seat. On our private tour with a local guide (€220 for 1 to 7 people), one traveller pays €220, two pay €110 each, four €55 each and seven about €31.43 each. In the minibus, ten people pay €330 in total, so €33 each. Boat and lunch are per person.

It varies with the terrace, the dish and the drinks, and menus change, so we do not quote a local price. Most restaurants by the falls serve tajines and simple Moroccan dishes. What extra costs should I plan for at Ouzoud?
On a private day with us, plan only for what you choose: the boat ride and lunch if you did not add them, drinks, tips for the driver and guide if you are happy with them, and any purchases at the stalls along the path. The total for your vehicle and options is shown in the booking form before you pay anything.
